This season, Histories for Kids, Inc. offers several
programs, each approximately 45 minutes in length. Please
feel free to contact us for more information about any
of these programs, or for bookings.
Remember, we are curriculum-based, so shows are not
only entertaining, but will help your school meet the
State Teaching Standards and Goals. All shows include
an extensive study guide consisting of lesson plans,
worksheets, and activities as well as a bibliography
of books and web sites that you can use in your classroom
to prepare for or follow-up on your assembly. |

figures and events helped to meet the people's

is great for study of IL statehood. It can also
be used as a focus for students studying the Illinois

of Lincoln's political rival, Stephen A.

Underground Railroad

Appearing as an owner of a “safe house” in Illinois,
Terry Lynch explains how a safe house was used
as a stopping point for the slaves to gain rest
and nourishment before continuing on to safety
in Canada. Several safe houses in the Chicagoland
area will be highlighted.

Costuming and props will be used to accentuate
each of these wonderful tales.
Hear your favorite...choose
one of the following folk heroes: Pecos Bill,
Paul Bunyan or Davy Crockett. Terry will tell
these characters’ stories in the first person,
dressed as the folk hero of your choice.
